Ever wondered what it would be like to be on a pirate ship? Come and join Captain MacKay and crew for an adventure that is suitable for all ages. We sail on the morning of 13th from Inverness (Muirtown) to Cromarty (Black Isle) where we will berth in the bay for the night to hunt for treasure in Cromarty. Dolphins are often seen in the Moray Firth and there will be opportunity to try your hand at sea fishing. Don’t forget you need to look like pirates to blend into the surroundings!

Through the beautiful Laggan Avenue to Gairlochy and on to Loch Lochy finishing our trip at the top of Neptune’s staircase at Banavie with fantastic views of Ben Nevis.

Sailing on to Fort Augustus to sample more Scottish hospitality, visit the Clansman Centre or walk along General Wade’s Military Road. Returning to Dochgarroch along Loch Ness passing the famous Urquhart Castle and maybe even spotting the Loch’s most famous inhabitant.

16th to 23rd JULYISLANDS DISCOVERY SEA VOYAGE

Board after 4pm on the 16th Isle of Lewis (Stornoway) for the night onboard in Stornoway. Sail on the morning of the 17th and arrive in Fort William (Corpach) to disembark on the morning of the 23rd after breakfast.
Spectacular scenery and wildlife – a unique opportunity to explore the wildlife and sea life of this beautiful area. Past sightings include Minke Whales, Common, Risso’s and Bottlenose Dolphins, Basking Sharks, Sea Eagles and puffins.
We plan to visit Isle of Harris, Loch Maddy (North Uist), Canna, Rum or Eigg and Tobermory (Isle of Mull).
Your time in Stornoway should coincide with the Hebridean Celtic Music Festival and the Sail Hebrides Maritime Festival (dates yet to be confirmed by festival organisers)

Travel up the staircase of locks to Loch Oich. An opportunity to walk, cycle and try water sports whilst sailing through the canal and lochs of the Great Glen.
Depart from Dochgarroch for an evening sail to Fort Augustus. Travelling up the staircase of locks, along the canal to Loch Oich for the water sports. Cycle or walk up Creag nan Gobhar with spectacular views of the Great Glen. Take the opportunity to relax in the pool and sauna. Sail back to Fort Augustus visiting the Clansman Centre and walk along General Wade’s Military Road. Then on to Loch Ness stopping at Foyers for a walk to the waterfall. Travel to the eastern end of the canal arriving in Muirtown.

Ever wondered what it would be like to be on a pirate ship? Come and join Captain MacKay and crew for an adventure suitable for any age. We have found a very old map and need help to find the treasure that is hidden somewhere in the village.

Starting our sail from Muirtown we travel up through the locks on to Loch Ness, full of mystery with chance to see Urquhart Castle from the water and maybe even Nessie. Arriving in Fort Augustus with opportunity to walk on General Wade’s Military Road, visit the Clansman Centre and sample Scottish hospitality. Up the flight of locks travelling further along the canal to the beautiful Loch Oich where there are opportunities for activities at the water sports park, or just chill out in their pool and sauna, and take cream tea at Glengarry Castle Hotel which has Invergarry Castle in its grounds. The trip ends in Fort William (Banavie).

From Banavie sail to Gairlochy and explore the area where Bonnie Prince Charlie hid. Through Loch Lochy and along the canal through the beautiful Laggan Avenue to Loch Oich. Opportunities to walk up Creag nan Gobhar with spectacular views of the Great Glen or try activities at the water sports park. Chill out in their pool and sauna or take cream tea at Glengarry Castle Hotel. Sail to Fort Augustus where you might sample the Scottish hospitality and perhaps visit the Clansman Centre. Onto Loch Ness, with a chance to see Urquhart Castle from the water and maybe even Nessie. Stopping at Foyers for a walk to the waterfalls to end our voyage in Inverness (Dochgarroch)

There are low and high and level walks which offer spectacular views of the Great Glen. Have a chance to try out water sports or relax in the pool and sauna at the great Glen water park. Glengarry Castle Hotel offers wonderful cream teas in surroundings where you can imagine you are the Laird.
As well as walking and mountain biking, fishing is also available, or why not just sit and relax and appreciate the scenery as we sail gently on?

Board after 4pm Inverness (Dochgarroch) on the 22nd to disembark Fort William (Banavie) 27th after breakfast on board. An opportunity to walk, cycle and try water sports whilst sailing through the canal and lochs of the Great Glen.
Sail from Dochgarroch to Loch Ness stopping at Foyers for a walk to the waterfall. Continue to Fort Augustus visiting the Clansman Centre and walk along General Wade’s Military Road. Onto Loch Oich to try water sports, cycle or walk up Creag nan Gobhar with spectacular views of the Great Glen. Opportunities if you are feeling less active to relax in the pool and sauna. Sail to Gairlochy and explore the area where Bonnie Prince Charlie hid. Then onto Banavie at the top of Neptune’s staircase where there will be opportunity to spend time walking up or down Ben Nevis, either from Fort William or Anoch Mor (gondola available for the less active).
27th to 29th OCTOBERCEILIDH WEEKEND

Board for a night on board with live music. Travelling to Fort Augustus the next day for another Ceilidh that evening. Next morning sail along Loch Ness stopping at Foyers for a walk to the waterfalls to disembark late afternoon at Dochgarroch. Enjoy the scenery and wildlife on the glorious Great Glen during the day and enjoy a ceilidh onboard in the evenings.

Further Information
Although we have an itinerary for our extended voyages around the west coast, these are not ‘set in stone’ as we have to remain flexible to take into account the weather and longer trips ashore. During our extended voyages we can include fishing, mountain biking, hill walking, nature walks, kayaking, white water rafting, clay pigeon shooting, archery and much more, please let us know and we can tailor your voyage to suit. Most of our extended voyages board late afternoon of the first date for dinner and night onboard and disembark after breakfast on the morning of the last date. Early booking is essential.

If you have a specific requirement or certain dates you have in mind please contact us and we will do our very best to accommodate. Because of our wonderful location all our voyages would appeal to lovers of spectacular scenery, wildlife, historians, artists, photographers, fishermen, the energetic and the not so energetic.

Half and full day sails are available on Loch Ness and the Moray Firth, although advance booking is essential.

  • Additional costs: e.g. mountain bike hire, fishing bait (limited rods on board – you may wish to bring your own), excursions, books and guides. A £5 deposit is required for use of each rod or bike.
  • Extra activities on “ACTIVITY” weekends or weeks e.g. Clay Pigeon shooting, white-water rafting and ringos (ask for further details)
  • Alcoholic, or soft drinks from the bar are charged as extra (please do not bring your own). We offer an option for these to be fully inclusive as part of your voyage – charged at £20 per person per day.
  • Advice on car parking can be given.
  • We do recommend that you take out your own travel insurance.
  • Travel to and from the boat is not included, but whilst in Inverness transport to or from the station can be arranged at £5 per person, and the airport at £10 per person. Please let us know about your detailed requirements

Booking Conditions & Insurance

  • A reservation is not confirmed until we receive a deposit of 25% of the total amount. This is non-refundable if you cancel your booking.
  • The balance due must be paid no later than 4 weeks before the start date of your voyage. You will be sent details either by email or post to confirm your booking and monies due when we receive your deposit.
  • If we cancel the trip for any reason then you will be advised asap and a full refund of any monies paid to us will be returned to you. In this instance we are not liable for any other monies you have paid to join us i.e. travel expenses.
  • We recommend that you organise your own insurance for your trip, as our insurance does not cover any injury, damage or loss incurred by you. Although every effort has been made to ensure your safety whilst onboard with us, you are responsible for your own safety at all times. A full safety briefing will be given on boarding.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. We do our best to ensure the safety of young children, most of the boat is netted and they must wear lifejackets supplied, you are responsible for their safety at all times. Discounts available for children of 5 years of age and under.
